Hello, I'm new to this particular portion of AVSForum, but today I was presented with a deal I simply couldn't refuse...

I work for an A/V Dealer, and we had a single display model 42HDT20 left, (had been out about 4 weeks) and we needed to get the 42HDT50 put on display.

I bought the TV off of the plasma display for a price I won't even mention here, because it will sicken people.

Anyhow, that aside, I've really only used this plasma with terrible cable, and 1080i.

I know the ALiS technology really shines on 1080i, but I would imagine it leaves something to be desired with a 480p signal.

What I'm wondering, is would the Bravo D1 would a good DVD solution for this TV?

It would seem so, after all, it's a 1080i output, with (according to WSR) a wonderful scaler, and the Hitachi doesn't touch 1080i material, just passes it naturally.

In my theoretical world, that seems like a perfect combination.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone tried it?
