New Problem with Infocus X10

1263 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ace5000
The left half of the screen (split right down the middle) is darker that the left side with a Grey - Greenish tint.

This effect is greatly exaggerated with BrilliantColor turned on, which makes it unusable.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm bummed.

Thanks.

Wow, what you're describing sounds like a light tunnel failure. But this is the first X10 I've heard of with that problem.

Sorry to hear... are you still under warranty by chance?

I've seen that on mine. Try turning BC on/off. I can't remember exactly what setting or combination of settings cause it, but it's not a hardware problem. At least it wasn't on mine.
Hey guys -

Unfortunately, out of warranty as usual. It's about 1.5 yrs. old. This projector hobby can be a money pit...

I'll play with it more today. Please tell me more about this "light tunnel" issue if you would.
Well, now that you've posted an image, I can see that it isn't a light tunnel issue.

Are you sure it's out of warranty? The X10 comes with a 2 year warranty. If you've had it a year and a half you should be covered unless you bought it used or a refurb.

It's not a light tunnel issue. 1080p DLP supposedly uses 2 controllers, one controls the left side of the screen, and the other the right. Since your problem only affects half your screen, my guess is that you have an issue with one of your controllers, or related hardware.
Interesting, let me check the warranty again...
