My existing set-up has all audio and video fed through my Integra RDC-7 pre-amp to the following.
Pioneer Elite DV59-AVi with HDMI
Pioneer Elite Pro 97 rear projector (being replaced)
My question is, I am a cable technical idiot and want to make sure my thinking is right as it rarely is.
I have purchased my first projector the new Sony HS-51 and the Lumagen Pro scaler. I wanted to get make sure my cabling purchases are correct and get some input on were to purchase.
The DVD had an MDMI connector so I would need a HDMI to DVI into the Lumagen scaler. HDMI carries both audio and video correct? I presume you can split this though right. In other words, send the video via HDMI and send the audio through the coax connection into my pre-amp still right?
HD Tivo the same thing, DVI to DVI inot the scaler with the audio through the fiber optic connection to my preamp.
A single DVI to DVI cable from the scaler to the projector.
Is that thinking correct? Were is a good source for good quality cables. I have used Blue Jean cables in the past for audio needs, are their new DVI and HDMI cables good quality?
I will also have a 12v trigger for the screen so I will need that link as well.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
