Hey guys, I'm new here but have some questions about replacing my Yamaha RX-V1500 receiver. No matter what I do, the audio/video are constantly out of sync...i've tried everything but just come to live with it for almost 4 years now. With the Christmas bonus I am thinking about finally swapping it out for something else. Best I can tell, the v1500 is somewhat outdated and i would benefit greatly from something newer. A couple i have looked at are the SC-05, Onkyo 905(or 805 whichever one I saw on sale at fry's for $999), sony 5300ES and some denon (suggestions needed). I am running Vienna Acoustics Weberns(3) and bergs (2), DTV, and PS3. I don't have a use for multiple zones....yet

Thanks in advance.

None of the above are suitable for the Weberns. They require a real 4 ohm capable amp to perform to the maximum.

Look at Cambridge Audio or NAD AVRs or separates from Outlaw or Emotiva. You may stumble across an Arcam AVR350 at closeout price - if you do, garb it - that will give you the best SQ.
