Does anyone know if any of the new sat. receivers have a coax digital output in addition to the typical optical audio output?

My Krell 7.1 processor only has two optical inputs and I am using both of them and would like to avoid buying a switcher.


Is there a reasonable toslink to RCA converter?

The Samsung TS160 has both coaxial and optical outputs. Also, Radio Shack sells a converter for $29 coax to Toslink and vice versa.

I already have the Samsung 160, that is what I am replacing because it is a dog, probably with a Sony HD300. Since the 160 is currently hooked up coax I need to hook up the replacement unit coax also.


Does the sound quality suffer with the Radio Shack Toslink to Coax converter?

I also was facing the same dilema, no open optical connections on receiver. I found it easier to upgrade to a newer dvd player with a coax connection, replacing my older dvd which had optical. It seems that more and more componets are going to an only optical setup, so I figured this was an opportunity to get ahead of the game a little. I too also plan on getting the hd-300 or the lss-3200 which both are optical only, can't wait to get one.

I do DVD audio coax with my Sony ES999 but my JVC D-VHS 40000 and Sony HD100 are toslink only and cannot be replaced right now.

Does this include the power supply? I know PartsExpress has one for $20, but cannot remember if it did include the PS or not.
