I'm sorry guys I was having some problems getting this to you.I just want you guys to make sure you look at the four new videos specially the second with Chris berman.I have been a hardcore fan for sometime but I really think this game is going to be a classic. The graphics ,cutscenes look amazing better than what I thought it would look like and we still have 2 months to go.

Wow! The detail is incredible! Everything from the lighting of and from stadiums (as displayed in the first picture and the 23rd during the night) and folds in the jerseys to the veins and seperation of muscles in their arms just shines, not to mention the incredibly smooth and fluid motion displayed in the videos  I'm just as stoked about this game as you jiujitsu and it's right up there for me with with all the anticipated games like Halo 2, RE4, Doom 3, Half-Life 2, etc...

Not much to say. People who dig ESPN2kx will buy that, people who dig Madden will buy that. It seems features don't matter at all to most people.

I've been with the 2kx series since 2k2, I've found every iteration to be better than Madden. 2k5 raises the bar a lot higher and has a ton of great improvements, and refines the strengths of the franchise. Native xbox development, 5.1 sound, more animations for a wider amount of action on the field, rich online features, great franchise improvements.

But I'm sure Madden's roster update is great, as well ;) Does Madden even have fat linemen yet?

I think this quote sums up the VC, EA rivalry quite well:

EA and Sega have been locked in a long and very one-sided football battle. Madden has cleanly thumped Sega year-after-year in terms of sales. However, when it comes to quality, games seem to be split. Which is better? Each year, that's the big question. This season, Sega's throwing a full blitz Madden's way. Will they outsell the best-selling franchise of all time? Not likely. Will it be the better game? Quite possibly. As much as I love NCAA Football 2005, each time I've played it over the past few days, it's been less satisfying than usual. That's because I also have a copy of ESPN NFL 2005 and that truly has been calling to me. From visuals to presentation to gameplay, it's shaping up to be one of the best sports games of all time. Yeah, it's really that good.

Only the SE edition of madden this year includes the 16-bit version as well as a playstation 1 version. XBox and Gamecube get the shaft.

ESPN Football last year was a much more solid game than Madden. I think with the right advertising, and the right timing (they need to get this game out a week BEFORE madden, not after) they could make a significant dent.

It looks like Take 2 is now publishing the ESPN Video Games lineup (at least ESPN NFL 2k5), this gives the game a bit more muscle behind it, though Sega is still paying for advertising.

I agree it's absolutely critical to have this year's iteration out earlier. It was pure hell to have games on tv and not have a new game in the system to play beforehand (old tradition of playing games on a console before watching the actual game) for a month. I almost broke down and bought Madden (rented it instead, heh).

Sega is now going back to the 2K series and officially changed the name from ESPN NFL 2005 to ESPN NFL 2K5. Not necessarily the most mind-blowing news for the game, but there is one. EBgames.com and GameStop.com has the game listed for only $19.99! Visual Concepts won't comment on the price, but rumor has it that it's because all ESPN titles would be distributed by Global Star Software, Take-Two Interactive's budget game division. My theory? Now that Madden has Xbox Live compatibility, ESPN NFL 2K5 won't have the upper hand in what was once an exclusive feature between the two. It already started with a $10 price drop for ESPN MLB 2004, and with a price tag anyone can afford at $20, ESPN NFL 2K5 will invite more people to the franchise all the while offering better gameplay, presentation, and features...as we all know it will :D This should all, in turn, boost sales incredibly, all the while widening their fan base.
