I'm looking for advice on getting my listening room in our new house the best I can.

At this time I own a Onkyo TX-SR806, a Sony SACD player, a PS3 (no sacd), Polk Audio monitor series speakers (M50 x 2, M30 x 4) and a Klipsch Sub-10 subwoofer.

The new room will be 15.25 x 13.1 x 10.5

My new setup should be a 5.1 system. 50% music, 50% movies/games, but make no mistake, I care about the sound in music reproduction, not HT.

I'm planning to sell all my equipment except the receiver and use it like a pre/pro. Features wise, I like this receiver, and do not think I need more than that. Do you think that receiver is a good one in that task?

I live in Nicaragua, no audition is possible for me. I plan to travel to Miami, but I need to narrow my speakers and amps choices when that time comes.

Budget is $3000.

Opinions? good options?

Thanks

Rodolfo

I just got some Paradigms and they sound great. I would look into them, possibly at the Studio line, or the Special Edition line

I will, thanks.

I don't know if my budget allow to afford a complete 5.1 set of Paradigm Studio line speakers.

For a reasonably-priced amp look at the 5000 from Outlaw Audio. If 80 wpc is sufficient, look at Emotiva. Pick the speakers first, then pic the amp that will best drive them.

Also, Chane is located in Fla. Something from their speaker selection would be nice. The new lines are just ramping up and the A series is pretty well sold out, but may be restocked by the time you get to Fla.
