New Sony CRT Rumours.

Anyone fill me in on the deal here? What lead people to think there is a new Sony CRT being released? Any details, facts, anything???

Sounds to me like it'd be a major marketing flop if they brought CRT back, I'd welcome it, but wouldn't that shake perceptions on what they're doing with GLV/LCOS?

JUST THAT, a rumor. However, VDC claimed they are going to be manufacturing and selling NEW tubes for ALL the Sony's, old and new. That is about the closest thing I've heard having ANYTHING to do with Sony.

not being familiar with VDC and what they do/don't rebuild, are you being serious about the VDC tubes for Sony or was that tongue in cheek?

I don't joke around when it comes to tubes. In a thread a couple of weeks ago, VDC posted that info. Then I started a thread called "Hooray, New Tubes on the Way" and VDC answered some questions about it there.

They are definately moving in that direction as well as building new CRT's for the NEC lineup of CRT's.
