Yeah! That's what I'm going to want for the high-end CX series next year. I very much don't want to give up the optics in the CX500V just to get the other "nice to have" features of the CX550V. The change in lens for the 550V means I keep my CX500V until a new model comes out with equivalent distance capabilities. No reason they can't extend this concept to the camcorders...
