New Stand - a/v receiver overheat?

I'm considering a new TV stand because my current stand will not safely support my set w/ new 47lb center channel + dvd player and receiver already inside.

Here is a link to the stand [i like] that will support this weight with ease and a future dlp/lcd/plasma...

currently my receiver (onkyo tx-nr801) has ~3.45 inches between its top and the bottom shelf of the current stand. i've never had any trouble with the receiver overheating (audio dropouts, etc).

the new stand from onecall specs 8.5" between shevles. there will be plenty of space all around, but i'm wondering if that is enough space on the top?

any suggestions, experience, other tv stands, etc.?

If the receiver is not enclosed you are not likely to have problems. The unit pictured appears to be open on all sides, so it looks fine. But are you sure the glass shelf below the top one is up to the weight of the large center speaker, especially if you plan to put anything else on it? You may want to verify that with Sanus Systems.
