Well it's supposed to be out as of yesterday... so does anyone have it yet, and compare it to the criterion disc?

I have it. Didn't do a direct A/B to the Criterion but I imagine it is quite an improvement. Don't go into it expecting your socks to blow off- there's still a ton of grain, a little EE and it's kind of dark. Unfortunately this film may never look a whole lot better without an expensive restoration it will probably never get. The soundtrack is the same- better, but still thin and hollow sounding. The extras are nice, especially the episode of "The Directors" featuring TG.


I plan to keep my Criterion Edition for the commentaries but at probably $13 or so the Anchor Bay version is well worth it.

I have it on order. The reviews I read said the new DVD PQ is quite

good considering what they had to work with.
