Thanks. I'm 3/4 of the way through. My favorite part so far is to hear he came to the exact same conclusion I did (in the 1980's): speakers only need to go down to 80Hz, because subs will be doing the rest. Here it is, 1h15m30s:
Dealers will lie to consumers with all sorts of pretexts why floor standers are necessary because they make a heck of a lot more money selling them. They also will lie and not promote the correct configuration intended by the inventors of 5.1: bass management should be on, aka "speakers 'small'/subwoofer 'yes'". [The way Toole says he has has his large Revel Salon 2 floor standers set up.]
I suppose statistically they (floor standers) have more cone area and therefor can play more loudly, if need be, but that's never been a concern for my setups. Good bookshelf speakers that are dead flat to 80Hz and only roll off well below that play as loudly as I need.
