Sometime next week we expect the first shipment of our next

subwoofer in the Subduction series, the SDX15. Introductory pricing

is US $270, C $300 shipping included.

This is the first high excursion Subduction driver using a 3" XBL^2 (TM) motor with dual 2 ohm voice coils.

- fiberglass/nomex woven cone with NBR surround

- high power, low inductance design, 2 layer 3" copper voice coil and large aluminium shorting ring inside the magnet

- forged and machined T-yoke and top plate with larger radiused pole vent for low aerodynamic noise

- high excursion spider with integrated lead wire

- attractive cast aluminum basket design with cast aluminum trim ring

- long Xmax (30mm) and a "bottomless" basket design

I think it works really well in both 'LLT' and medium sized sealed alignments. Please note that these sims are based on the preliminary T/S parameters, which are subject to change.

Well if one was using 24" tube, certainly. It'd easily fit in 22 (granted its hard to find) or 20in tube.

And 300liters/15Hz doesn't really give such a nice EBS type FR, at least not in simulation. It'd be ideal in a really large room that didn't have much room gain, but otherwise?....

It seems that Unibox gives a little bit flatter response than WinISD.

But anyways, some rise in in-room response below 20 Hz doesn't hurt that much. 300L and 14 Hz would be my choice.

Dunno what was going on...

I have approximated Le2=3 mH, Re2=3 ohm. I have also permanently changed the Rs value to 0.1 ohm (I think that's more closer to reality).

About the same Vd as a fi Q15. Bit longer xmax and a bit smaller Sd.

Bummer, but it sounds like a pretty good all around driver.

Kyle is right; there are no plans for an 18". The next one planned is the 12" SDX12 (sample coming in the shipment) and then the SDX7 which is an Extremis replacement.

I'm also looking at offering a special price for the trade in of non working 15" Brahmas and Tumults assuming there is enough interest and I can finalize the arrangments for someone to do repairs, etc.

If this is of interest please let me know.

$300CAN per driver shipped! The specs look good and the price is interesting, any other pics of these drivers?

I would be interested in two.

Hey I might get more MDF while at Home Depot tomorrow. And build a box for these too.
