Hmmm....I 'm not sure the money is worth it, but I will give you some additional thoughts...
I realize there's a BIG difference bewteen HD and non-HD content. I can clearly see the difference on my setup (D-ILA projector and 54" Samsun HD RPTV, with Samung SIR-TS160), component). I*do not* scale the input for either unit, relying on 1080i output for the HDTV and RGB passthru for the D-ILA. Yes, I do think the Samsung with regular DTV content looks pretty bad. I find it pretty annoying when I switch back and forth with the Samsung. Now, funny thing I noticed. I also have a D-Tivo setup with output on S-video through a scaler. On D-ILA (120" Stewart Greyhawk screen) the S-video scaled output was quite a bit better than the Samsung regular" DTV input. I am guess that some of this has to do with the scaling abilities between the Samsung and the scaler (FYI - I have a Quadscan Elite HD, RGBHV output). But I found this test interesting. I do plan some more tweaks in the near-future, such as upgrading the scaler. But I found this little bit interesting.
Good luck!
