Need help making a good decision on x4 in ceiling surrounds for the theater. I currently have Polk rc60is for my rear channels which are the weakspot in my theater My ceilings are a little over 10' high, so I was thinking of getting something in the 8" driver range. I unfortunately don't have a lot to spend and I have been drawn to the close out NHT IC4's which have a 87db sensitivity rating. I have read through tons of threads here regarding efficiency and still am at a bit of a loss. Here is some pertainant info regarding my system:
My rears have about 25-30' of speaker wire
My fronts are Paradigms with sensitivity ratings of approx 92db.
Reciever is a PIO Elite SC-07
Would the sensitivity difference coupled with the long run in speakers wire make the purchase of the IC4's not a good choice? Or should I keep looking?
Given this is not exactly a yes/no or black/white subject or question, what would you guys do? Keep looking or pick up some IW4's at a great price. If not, do you have a recommendation for something in the $2-$300 range? I am sure whatever else I end up buying should be TONS better than the Polk RC60's. Thanks for helping out.
