Howdy everyone! I am about to purchase my first projector/screen. It will be an entry level projector, either the Z1 or the Home 10.


Anyone have recommendations for either of these?


I have a dedicated finished room in the basement, totally light controlled. There is no light at all. The room is 15 x 13 with 8 foot dropped ceiling.

Listening area will be 9-10 ft back from the wall screen will be mounted.


All material will be DVD/HDTV. 16 x 9 will be the aspect ration of the screen. Any recommendations on screen size/type for a newbie?

Look into one of the easy to make DIY screens on the screen foum. Do a search for parkland palstic or gatorboard. They are also some paints you can get from Home depot that add extra contrast such as Behr misty evening and some more complex combinations you can read about on that forum.


Personally I would go with the z1 as it is higher resolution and scales HD easier. Plus it has lens shift to make set up easy.
