I recently bought the spacer system (1 remote, 1 IR dimmer, 1 accessory dimmer), and tried to instal it today. I have relatively little experience with electrical wiring, but this didn't look too difficult since I was only replacing existing mechanical switches.

I followed the directions closely, but after I put everything back together and turned the power back on to the circuit, neither switch works.

How does one go about troubleshooting problems of this type? Can the problem be that the switches themselves are bad?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Problem solved, I had 1 small wiring error. Well, I said it was a newbie problem.

Now that it works, its really cool. Even my wife was impressed, and she is usually pretty neutral about gizmos such as these.

The spacer system really is pretty neat...and relatively inexpensive. I have it controlling the sconces and a couple of outlets into which I had intended to plug rope lighting. But I never have purchased the rope lighting.
