I currently have the following components ina dedicated home theatre room.

X1 projector

Sony reciever will be upgraded to outlaw soon.

Sony Cd player

Sony Dvd player

HDTV cable reciever

I have looked at the pronto online and see that best buy used to carry it.

I like the absence of buttons and a touch screen looks cool to me.

Which remote would you reccommend and also where can you buy them?

Thanks!:D

looks like you narrowed your selection down to touchscreen. Now, time to decide on a budget.

Surfremote and bluedo are authorized dealers for HTM and Pronto. There's an entire line of Pronto touchscreen and you may also want to check out HTM's MX-3000.

Of course, if your going high end, check out crestron and AMX.

Two last questions... If I go with a pronto I will need the following things accomplished.

My AV equipment is currently in a "technology room" (actually a closet) behind the actual theatre room. I need to somehow get my IR signal to that room from the home theatre room. I have heard of repeaters but I am curious as to what you guys think? any suggestions?

Also, my X1 has an RF remote. how can I get a pronto (IR) to signal my X1 (RF) ?

just wondering.

thanks alot for the help.

If you get the Pronto, also get the RFX6000 RF extender. The Pronto will communicate with it via RF and it has wired IR emitters to control your equipment.

You can't. There are no universal RF remotes. If your X1 can accept an IR signal, you'll be fine.

X10 sells an X10 to IR signal converter. Look for IR543 for basic on/off/dim control and IR543AH for scene capability.

like Mike said I would go with a Pronto and RFX6000.

as for tghe projector just leave it to IR and bounce the codes of the screen. I never used an X1, but have done that with many brands of projectors and never had a problem
