Directv through s-video will always look like crap on a 65". What type of DVD player do you have?

i have 3 cheap dvd players, one cyberhome with progressive scan, the sansui dvd recorder with progressive scan and a portable cheap tde brand. t2 extreme looks great on the sansui, but at a distance farther than i normally view at. i think the 65" is probably too big for the room that i watch it in. is there a compromse in the dlp or lcd realm in the $2500 range, that will have a good pq on both hdtv and 4:3 material.i have an 8yr old rca 56inch rptv 4:3 display that is on 15hrs a day that is still kicking.thanks for your help.

I occasionally watch my 65" from 8' with my Denon DVD-3800, and it looks awesome. Getting a DLP would only make matters worse. You might want to invest in an ISF calibration.
