I bought a new home and front projection is the only answer for the tv room. I think I have settled on the Panasonic PT-AE700U projector and now I need a screen.
I will be installing vertical blinds to darken the room, but there may still be some ambient light.
I have been at ProjectorCentral.com working with their projector calculator.
foot candles- Based on my throw distance and estimated screen size I have 42 fc. Should I consider a high gain screen. I have been looking at a Da-Lite model with a gain of 2.85. Is higher foot candles always better in order to make the image more viewable in ambient light conditions?
Masking - Just exactly what is masked? This is a 16:9 projector. Will the image edges be masked by the projector or do I adjust the image size to fill the screen out to some type of black border?
Screen material I have read this can affect how black, black is. So is it a choice between black blacks or getting a bright image?
Any help for this newbie would be much appreciated!
