hello and thanks for taking the time because my head is spinning....

i would like to backup my dvd and bluray collection onto hard drives and easily access them in a convenient and categorized way on my tv.....

there are media streamers like linksys and popcorn and then there is the HTPC route....

i dont think ill be dealing with tv recording...but do have blue ray movies and a compatible 1080ptv....im pretty computer savvy just new to this type of media....

any suggestions would be appreciated

I don't have a solution for Blu Ray, but for regular DVD's, I use a ripper then an Apple TV format encoder and send the movies to my iTunes library. I can stream them to my HDTV albeit at 720p. But sitting 15' from a 52" set, who can tell the difference?

DVDFab 5 for DVD's and AnyDVD + TSMuxer for Blu-ray.

I've ripped a couple hundred discs with these programs with great results.

DVDFab 5 freeware version works fine.

AnyDVD is on sale now with 20% off and lifetime upgrades.

TSMuxer is freeware.
