Of course I can't back this up, but I don't think Yahoo News Headlines has ever had a shortcut to a Digital Television story, but there it is now. Of course it's negative, and it portrays the cable industry as the white knight of HDTV.
I agree that cable is crucial to the success of HDTV in the USA, but to imply that cable's announcement is the start of the whole transition just ain't so.
There was no mention of the 200-300 stations already on the air, and they got their facts wrong about which network was transmitting how much of their programming in HD.
Just another example of a poorly researched article. I would have hoped for better...
