News on VIGATEC
So here we are:
After a few weeks of silence we have been preparing new features and have been removing problems from the firmware.
The triple-SDI has been succesful tested last night in various configurations including PAL/NTSC and switching between
SDI and Y/C, composite on the same input.
The Triple SDI actually expands the number of vido inputs to 11 !!! of the VIGATEC scalers. The Triple SDI is available from stock. With the firmware version necessary for the triple SDI we also fixed the format conversion problem we had with NTSC when using SDI, now all formats are possible. I will put that firmware on the web in the next few days, when fully tested.
New FX2 Linedoubler from VIGATEC:
This line doubler has 8 inputs, two outputs YPrPb or RGBHV/RGsB, IR-Remote, a true blue display and the best deinterlacer chip you can buy. We cannot disclose the brand but it is the best.
It is agressively priced and a good alternative to the ISCAN if you
like more features and better video deinterlacing.
The unit will ship in 6 weeks and will come in the standard VIGATEC housing.
This unit will work with all HDTV compatible displays and projectors and improve their performance drastically.

Then you'd be wrong... Faroudja is not competing with itself as long as the chip is not used for SCALING, but for interlacing. In that case, it is not competing with the NRS! In any case Sage has made it clear that they are more interested in selling Faroudja technology in the form of chips, than in the form of standalone products.
There are already some products (I think Omega-one is one of them) that have been labeled "Faroudja based iScan killers".
I have looked at the FX2's advanced specs (invisible, but quite accessible on Vigatec's website). I obviously won't release the info - but the specs leave very little doubt regarding who'se chips are in the FX2...
A few things that dissapointed me about the specs (which look quite excellent, Uwe - congratulations!):
1. No mention of OSD. I hope this has been implemented, the "invisible" functionality mode was bad...
2. No RGsB input I hope this is fixed soon, we have some RGsB inputs to hook up.
