What's this all about?


DirecTV: All TV Signals by 2008

Abstract: Washington -- After merging with News Corp., DirecTV is promising to carry every local TV station in the country no later than 2008.

It sounds like they want to carry every local TV Station in the country by 2008.

I would hazard a guess that you will only get local Market Stations.

Not just the thread's poor title, but it also isn't about HDTV.


I do wonder what Dish/Satellite will do when the analog signals get shut off? I mean will Local affiliates still broadcast a SD edition of say Fraiser when everyone should be capable of HD? I mean Digital Cable or OTA STBS will be able to convert the HDTV show to S-Video or Composite for the older TVs that will linger. But of my digital stations, only a few (an ABC and PBS) offer SD and HDTV simultaniously. What would the DBSs offer for locals.


It would be either HD or nothing for locals. hmm.
