Game two, looks & sounds OK, like yesterday. WDIV-DT NBC Detroit via Comcast, one subchannel of low bit rate Weather Plus.

OK is being kind. This is HD that is mediocre at best...soft....SD upconverts...I really wouldn't invite my friends to watch. NBC is doing a pi**poor HD broadcast. They obviously don't care about the NHL. OTA from KWQC in Davenport. They also have one subchannel of weather.
WNBC-DT NYC Cablevision.

I don't mean to bash the NBC techs. I'm sure if I was in the tuck looking at the HD feed uncompressed it looks great.

I think the use of the SD cams is worse then the macroblocking issues.

The PQ downgrade is so big when they switch.

I just don't understand why the SD cams look so bad when they get up converted.

HD main cam like Saturdays game looks a bit soft. So does the HD cam shot from the upper right side.

The SD cams also once again look like they are running at slower frame rate then the HD cams.

100% agreed!
Looked good enough to my tired eyes via WBBH-DT OTA.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that the HD feed didn't look as good as it could be. The NBA game looked way better over on ABC. I guess my eyes are as bad as I think. :D
It was pretty bad yet again. I just don't get ticked-off with it any more as it's expected. Sad.
