I have the Pioneer Andrew Jones and Sony upfiring Atmos speakers. They're fine but upfiring speakers don't work as well as advertised. I"m pretty sure the NHT Atmos speakers won't be any different.

I have a 5.1 set of NHT SuperZero 2.1 in another room with a SuperCenter. Honestly you'd be better off buying two SuperZeroes and mount them as top heights if possible. Atmos speakers on top of floorstanders is a compromise. The SuperZero has a 4.5" woofer and 1" tweeter. The Atmos speaker has a single 3" driver.

Amazon's price on the SuperZero and Atmos speakers has gone up quite a bit in the past few weeks. Not the bargain they used to be.

I'm too looking to use the SuperZeros as overhead hanging Atmos speakers.. Is it good.. Do you have it on your setup for Atmos??

And your room size, please?? 🙂

I have the NHT Atmos speakers sitting on my NHT C4 front speakers. They work. I have not put another pair on my surround speakers because it would be a wiring problem. With just the front pair they still do work. I sit about 10 feet from them and in order to reflect sound toward where I sit, I put little risers on the back feet to tilt them forward. I have a demo Atmos disk and used it to fool around with the speaker placement/tilt to get the optimum results.
There are probably better solutions, but I'm happy with these little speakers. It's an inexpensive way to try out Atmos. You don't need speakers that can handle bass since this part of the audio spectrum doesn't exhibit directional characteristics. It's the mid and high frequencies that reflect well off the ceiling and give that feeling of height.

So how do you like the sound of those C4's? How's the mid-bass and bass on them? I've narrowed my choice between the C4 and SVS Prime Pinnacle. Unfortunatly not much info on the C4 and no reviews anywhere. NHT also does a piss poor job of providing any real information on them. The only reason I know about them is because I'm a lifelong NHT owner with SuperTwo tower and SuperOne 2.1 as my surrounds. Time for a change after having these speakers for so long.

Love them. The only review I have found is of the C3. I haven't found one for the C4. Here is the review for the C3:

I listen mainly to classical music and bought the C-4 because they were sealed and supposedly therefore a bit more flat in frequency response. Also I had a pair of NHT Classic 3s which I really love. These now are serving as surrounds. All the tests I've seen of the Classic 3 and the one for the C3 show very flat frequency response and what I've heard from the C4s suggests that they too are nice and flat.
I don't think you will regret the C4s if that's they way you go.
