I've got my better half to agree on some L5's for our HT. But, she wanted them flush mounted as possible.

Would it hinder the speaker performance if I mounted it in the wall, recessed about 2"? Im wondering if I can cut a hole in the wall, mount the bracket behind the speaker, just so it doesn't look so obviously bolted to the wall.

mc,

I don't think it would affect the performance that much of the speaker, but I have 2 concerns:

1. Will you still be able to rotate the speaker on the bracket as you need to.

2. Will there be enough support to hold the bracket and speaker. I have mine screwed into the wall studs behind the drywall.

Outside of that, I think you would be good to go.

I've realized something.. Our plasma is going to be mounted about 40" off of the floor (40" to bottom of plasma) and these speakers will be mounted along side of it. If we're sitting on the couch they'll be about 12" over our heads.. Are we better off getting M5's and going w/ floor pedestal mounts?

Regards,

Michael
