Just thought I'd pass this along...on the weekend I stapled some black material to the ceiling which covered the first 5 or 6 feet in front of the screen...and boy did it make a difference! I can see huge improvement in bright scene contrast which before appeared slightly washed out. I may be imagining this but it also seems like I'm getting more light output now. At any rate...highly recommended!!

It's not imagination, it is something many have observed. By putting dark (non-reflecting) material on the ceiling above the screen, the most severe reflections are being reduced, thus resulting in a better contrast on your screen.

I painted the ceiling flat black, on top of the knock down texture (orange peel). My walls are quite dark, but they seem lit up when comparing them to the ceiling.
