Is the Nightingale Pro 6 a good card?

I was thinking of buy it to link my pc to my ht amp thru a digital coaxial interface. So is the Nightingale Pro 6 a suitable card?

Hows the sound?

are there any conflict if i am using windows XP?

How does it compare with the SB live de 5.1? (can this do the above?)

Are there any other recommendations?

And any idea where to get the Nightingale Pro 6?

Last qn,

how long is a digital coaxial cable be able to span?

was thinking of a 10m cable.

Thanks!

Good sound.

Works with XP.

Better than a SB Live 5.1 on its worst day.

I don't remember the place off the top of my head, but I found the link to buy it a few days ago for someone asking the same question. You can try looking for that thread, as this card gets talked about once a day :)

You can get the Nightingale line of sound cards from

http://www.inpax.com

This seems to be the site of choice for ordering the Nightingale sound cards.

I have used the built into mainboard version. It was a very nice card for passing DD and DTS.. Not so good for PCM audio. I never use my HTPC for playing anything but DD and DTS so I have been very happy with this card.

Excellent card. 2 thumbs up. Surprisingly, it's also the best card I've used when using the analog outputs as well. No noise or hum or anything.
