This is a good system although it is not as customizable as others such as the pronto family because it is a hard button style instead of an lcd touchscreen. It does include RF capability out of the box and 3 relays to control a screen, blinds or anything of the sort. The biggest advantage it has is video sync so it knows when your equipment is on or off to aid in performing macros when turning on and off. That is only helpful if you don't have discrete IR commands though.

A lot of people consider it antiquated because it was first brought to the market 7-8 years ago and hasn't changed very much. It is however pretty much bulletproof when properly setup.

I have one, used it for about 3 yrs. Ditto to what Erik said. Two reasons why I don't use it anymore. One, every time I changed a piece of equipment I had to call the installer to reprogram it. This got expensive. Two, for me not enough control. Does the basic stuff very well, but if you want a lot of different controls at your finger tips, you run out of buttons (command options). LCD or LCD/Button remotes give you more options. This may or may not be an issue for what you need. Also, I thinks it's a little over priced.

I managed to get a programmer for the Intellicontrol, so I understand the installer issue (present with high end systems like Crestron, etc.)

However I hated touch screens, and disposed of my Pronto because I hated when I'd hold say fast forward down, I'd have to continue to press it every couple of seconds.

The tacticle buttons on the Intellicontrol spurred my purchase, and that's what I have.

Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to concentrate on a different product because of the programming issue with the Intellicontrol. I would like to get a touch screen remote with the right balance of hard buttons. I've been focusing in on the TSU6000 with the RF Extender. Is this a good alternative? The touch screens have a bit more flash value but may not be as practicle as a remote with tactile buttons.
