is there anyone out there that can help ??
when i connect my htpc to my yamaha rx-v1800 av reciever using hdmi the best i can get is stereo. no 5.1 or 7.1.....damn !!
ive checked in all the audio device properties , they only show my hdmi device and spdif as stereo l/r jacks. no option of changing anything other than sample rate.
ive got a realtek on board high-def audio codec usig driver version r2.13 which ive updates to from the previous version. no change. my hdmi output is actually on the nvidia geforce 8600gt gpu but i cant seem to find any settings in there to enable 5.1 over hdmi either. any help appreciated ?
