I am new to all this, but I purchased a GE d52gw12 TV, and teamed it up with my sony dvd plaver via rca's. It worked fine until my sister got me a set of component cables. I plugged them into the proper locations on both units, and I get a great picture, but no sound. I have the dvd player set to progressive. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Just a guess so don't take this the wrong way ... component only conveys video, you need a set of RCA cables or a digital/optical cable to send the audio from the player to the set or to a receiver. On the other hand, the TV might have a menu setting for audio that can be changed by input. I'm not familiar with the line.

YMMV

Ya, I had everything hooked up fine, and as i was just about to eat a bullet, I had a bad set of audios. Guess i set the entertainment center on top of them or something. So they were replaced and working fine. Thanks for the help guys!
