Hi all, new member here and of course I come looking for help. I have an Onkyo AV receiver (TX-DS787) and have been hooked up to Adelphia digital cable with HD for over a year. All of a sudden, I can no longer receive HD signals in DD. Only PCM @ 48k. I have tried messing with all the input options in the setup menu but can't seem to find the problem. Can anybody help me troubleshoot this extremely annoying problem? BTW, I am getting DD and DTS thru my DVD player.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Well on a Comcast HDTV STB that a friend of mine has, it "defaulted" back to Stereo once. I had him enter the set up menu and change the audio from "stereo" to "matrxi" and that worked.

Also some receivers can be toggled between opt/coax digital and their analog connectors on a input. Do you have the red/white analog cables connected from your Cable box to the AV receiver? If so, disconnect them to confirm that you are only getting audio via your digitial connection.

I am running component video out to my TV and optical out to the receiver so I don't think I will find any RCA cables but I don't recall, will check when I get home. Also will try to get into the setup menu for the STB and see what that gets me. Thanks for the reply and I post an update.

I am having the same problem with my Comcast HDTV STB. The box is a Motorola 6200. Right now, I cannot get DD sound, even though I am using the digital output. Is there a way to switch it so that I can? Is there some menu setting or something? Thanks.
