I'm getting ready to purchase a set of BP7004's, and I'm trying to plan out the rest. Since it will have to come later down the road.

I noticed that on DT's website they don't reccomend a bipolar surround speaker for those particular speakers. I know it's important to match drivers so that's what got me looking. Does anyone know the reason for this? Or know if running a larger driver in a surround would hurt the sound, or create undesired effects?

I really like Def Tech, and the bp7004's are at the top range of what I can afford. I know alot of people have said that they prefer the 7002's to the 7004's but I just can't afford them. The speaker that is reccomended for the surrounds of the 7004's are the Studo monitors 350's and bp8b, and of course more bp7004's. It just seems weird that they wouldn't make a bipolar surround to work with all models of the 7xxx series.

Also, I was kinda leaning toward the Tx sr606 from Onkyo as a receiver. Mainly because of the great reviews, and the amount of features compared to price that it has. I read that they had some quality issues at some point. That's not something I want to deal with. Receiver budget is around $400. Anyone suggest a different receiver with reasons as to why?

My main goal is to one day have a system with the 7001SC's, so i'm trying to buy things that i might be able to use down the road. I think right now the only thing that will work would be the clr2002.

If you made it this far I thank you for reading all this. I've read about as much as i can of the definitive owners thread, and my eyes can't seem to focus anymore. Thank you for your time, and hopefully your responses.

Thank you bartman, you are correct. I thought that I had looked at those already. I've been reading so much of this stuff over the last 24 hrs, it almost seems like a blur, and is hard to absorb it all. Again thank you for your reply.
