I have had this TV for a couple of years and have had no problems. One day I turned it on and there was no picture. I still have sound and the channels change, but no picture. Doe this TV have a picture tube like the old TV's used to have? If not, what is the problem?

Thanks for your help.

The problem is it ain't working right but like Otto says without the make and model we can't tell anything .

If it is 2 yrs old It's probably safe to assume it is either a Plasma , CCFL /LCD or LED/LCD in any case the diagnosis and repair and especially the parts used will be different from one and other .

Some newer Sony models (and maybe some others) have a "pic off " (picture off) button on the remote that turns off the back light and thus the picture but leaves the sound on , if that's the case push that button while the set is on.

If not try pushing the picture mode pre set or similar button .
