I have a 49txi receiver, and a Motorola DCT2000 cable box. The receiver is set up for 7-ch surround. The cable box is set for Dolby Digital audio output, with both digital coax and analog audio connections to the receiver.

The VCR gets its audio input from the VCR1 audio outs of the receiver.

When watching TV with the cable box, I get sound on analog and digital channels, with surround working correctly on the digital channels.

When I record with the VCR, I get sound and picture on analog channels, but only video with no sound on the digital channels.

Can anyone suggest how to correct this? It seems like the receiver VCR1 audio outs should be providing analog audio to the VCR even when tuned to a digital channel.

Thanks
