Looks like someone at UPS might have wanted it for themselves:

05/21/2007 11:10 P.M. MERCHANDISE IS MISSING. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS.;ALL MERCHANDISE MISSING, EMPTY CARTON WAS DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE

05/21/2007 1:04 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Now I get to call amazon in the morning and ask for my money back so I can try to get it locally, anyone else have a similar experience?

That sucks man. I hope you get it at a decent price locally. I was worried with my purchase since I never received a shipping invoice for my order(Matrix and PotC DMC overnight) but got one for my 2 day order(Smokey and the Bandit and PotC Cotbp) Luckily I just got the shipping invoice an hour ago and it's already in Ohio.

I got mine from WHV and it arrived from UPS on Monday morning. After looking at the package I was wondering if anybody got ripped off because my package said HD-DVD Ultimate Matrix right on the outside. I wonder if Amazon list the contents on the outside of the packages?

I think what they mean is UPS found the empty box (the thief having already taken the movie) so they were able to attribute it to this particular tracking number, then discarded it because it was empty.

Or if you're referring to some kind of coverup by UPS, they're not going to pull any CSI shenanigans and try to lift prints from a UPS box. Stupid cops wouldn't even do it when someone stole my car and did $15k in damage to it.

I just got an email from Amazon saying my order has be delayed (no reason given). Last night, it was in the "shipping soon" status, and it still is, so I can't even cancel my order. I don't understand how my order is delayed when amazon says they have the item in stock. grr.

Just buy it locally and return the amazon replasment when you get it that way you get it at amazon price.

BBY wants 83 for the ultimate 73 for the basic.

I was a CC yesterday and they had a ultimate place tag listed at $99 bucks. What a rip.

Anyway I'm going to order this from amazon tonight. Get free shiping hope nothing happens... my last few free shiping orders came within 5days...

Wow, creepy! I almost had a similar incident yesterday...I checked my UPS tracking number and it said it was delivered at 3:00 pm. I got home from work about 5:30, and it wasn't on the porch. Normally my brother will bring stuff in before he goes to work (about 3:30), but that wasn't the case here. I was PISSED because I figured they either delivered it to the wrong house (wouldn't be the first time) or someone actually stole it.

I was so mad I....took a nap. Yeah. Anyway, when I woke up it was on my front porch. I guess a neighbor got it delivered to them and they brought it over. Or maybe it was The Matrix Fairy (also known as Mouse).

I'm on the phone with Amazon now. They are contacting ups to see what happened (even though I told them what happened from the UPS website and they see that as well in their order status) and will then decide what to do for me. We'll see! I wonder if I could even get a copy locally, I figure any places near me that even carry new releases would be sold out of it by now.

UPS told Amazon that it "fell out of the box" and so they "threw it away".

Amazon is re-shipping me the order tomorrow, at no charge, and giving me a $5 credit.

Best buy's website has it listed for $90, which is only $10 more than Amazon's. I think I'll look for it locally, and return Amazon's order if it ever gets here

I will say that it was easy to get in touch with a person at Amazon, however, it was difficult to understand her with her accent.

UPS is the worst. I avoid them because things like this have happened to me one too many times.
