In one of the Chicago based posts, some started to talk about disconnecting appliances and computers and other devices to help with reception.

I understand the concept behind that reasoning, but what I am curious is, how is my computer possible effecting my reception..

Is it via the electric connections in the house?

Or is the computer generating a "radiation" field that is messing up reception.

I find the latter to be hard to be true that my person computer could generate enough RF interfearence to effect an antenna that is 30ft away, through walls, ects....

So would using cheeper UPS power strips provide me with a clean electric system? (IE the 5 minute versions, hooking those up to my computers and Tivos, ect..)

I am getting very good OTA reception, but I don't have everything in my new house fired up yet and looking to set this up right, once....
