Hi all, I am writing here to get some help,

I built a diy sub, 2 sealed 1cuf box with a 10" dayton each, powered by an Emotiva XPA100.

When I activate my VPR lift I get pops, loud pops.

Doing some troubleshooting I found the pops coming from the RCA sub cable, when one of the ends is not connected the pops are gone.

The cable is a cheap, thin RCA audio cable, much longer than needed (What I had in hand).

I am going to try with a ground loop isolator as first instance, and the second one will be to change the cable, better shielding and last ratio RCA to XLR.

Do you guys think I am going to get improvement or you can suggest some other option?

Yesterday i did try with a good rca cable and a good rca to xlr cable, same issue.

I wil try with different power line, starting from the central AC panel, the problem, and my suspect now, is that the contractor admitted he made run the speaker cable from the sub amplifier to the subs boxes close to the ac line powering the lift motor.

Painful.

Have you tried running a cable down the middle of the room on the floor, or moving the sub closer to the amp with a short cable, and see if it goes away?

Yes, I get pops also when no music is playing, next try would also be to run a temporary speaker cable between subampli and sub boxes, to see if the noise is caused by the close run of speaker cable and lift AC power.

I'll also contact Emotiva to see if they can suggest something too.

I'll try this one too, using a different speaker connected to the subampli
