my Barco 700 series CRT expects component w/sync


My source is a progressive scan Toshiba sd-9100.


What do I need to just generate the extra sync signal ?

Normally with component video the sync. is combined with the Y. Did you already try feeding in component video ignoring the expectation of separate sync.? Some projectors with a separate sync. input may still accept sync. via the Y.


If that did not work you might try using a Y-connector and sending the Y feed to both the Y input and the sync. input. If the sync. input ignores the positive going content (the video) it will pick up just the sync. and it may work OK.

very odd. Are you sure it's not a prep for RGBS ?


Some devices have an optional sync input. If they see something there, they will assume the signal is RGBS, if they don't - they'll assume component.

fwiw, my barco 600 had a toggle, so it would synch on green; but it still had to have rgb; you must have an add-on board if it will even take component.
