Well to make a long story short... I finally got around to putting a descent projection setup in the house and am curious as to what today's gear would sound like compared to what I've currently got in my setup. If I had to guess my best upgrade would be a nice sub. Just curious as to what DTS or any loss less formats would sound like vs DD.

It's dated...

-Denon AVR-3200

-Paradigm Monitor 9's (Original series)

-Paradigm Mini Monitor 65969's

-Paradigm CC-350 center

-JL 12W6 in a ported box (had it laying around from previous car)

-Optoma HD66

-HTPC (i7, etc etc)

I'm located about 45 mins NE of Philadelphia.

Anybody else care to chime in? Am I really missing out on new technology vs what I have?

Is there a budget in mind?

I'd say $1500-2000 for the front sound stage + sub.

IMO for that budget the best upgrade (by far) would be a great sub or two and a new mid range AVR.

A good subwoofer from HSU, SVS or Epic - A new receiver that

can handle Blu-ray audio - plus, get a Blu-ray player. This is a

good start, and will be an ear and eye opener.
