Alright here's the setup, I have an HD cable box, xbox360, HTPC, and original xbox and I want to route all the video and audio through a reciever, my budget is around 300$.
Here as the connections as I've decided to go with -
HD Cable Box - HDMI (video/audio if possible), coax audio if HDMI audio isn't possible
Xbox 360 - Component HD, Optical Audio
HPTC - DVI video, Optical Audio
Xbox - Component video, Analog Audio
As for the HTPC, the situation is that my TV only has a regular VGA connection, but i would use DVI from the PC to the Receiver and then DVI from the Reciever to the TV using a VGA-DVI adapter at the endpoint.
I'm using all of this in my room which isn't very big, but i'm leaning towards high end for my budget to accommodate a larger room later when I move out.
I'm also looking for a decent 5.1 Speaker setup but I suppose I'll just post that in the appropriate thread.
