I'm considering to get fusion hdtv3 qta for htpc in a basement.


Currently, I only have a basic cable subscription-I think which is analog.

Is it possible to get some local hdtv channel through existing cable(not ota)? or do I have to subscribe at least digital channel?


I'm in champaing area, IL and cable company is insight.

well, a couple things you need to look into...


1) Deos your cable company HDTV channels?

2) Are these channels send unencrypted?

3) Are they mapped to channels

Try the tread in the local reception forum for your particular cable company in your area. For example, I review the Seattle Comcast thread. Chances are there's one for your area.
