i have tried the 3 codes suggested in other threads --4476, 0276 and 0476--and neither of them will send the final "enter" command to change the channel on my new Motorola digital cable box :(.

in the past, i have used the internal cable tuner or the serial cable (DirecTV receiver) and this is the first time i've used the IR blaster--disappointing so far.

any ideas? i have it set to "yes" for send enter and i have it set for 3 digit minimum. when i enter the channel number on the RTV, it will enter the digits, however, it won't enter that final "ok" or "enter" to actually change the channel.

On my Motorola DCT-5100 after 3 digits the cable box automatically

switches to the channel without need for enter. I find sending enter

actually gets in the way as it occasionally brings up some other menu.

I recall the fine tune menu can seem confusing at first and the change

you made might not actually be saved, so reverify the settings you

wanted are entered correctly.

it's a Motorola digital cable box model DCT2244...it saves the IR blaster code and does show the channel numbers as i punch them in on the cable box, but after 3 digits, it just sits there and displays the "info" from the channel i'm tryin to go to and will not change the channel.

weird thing is, i can't get "select" or "enter" to work on the RTV for the cable box...i have no way to send the "enter" command to the box :(.

I've got a 5100 as well, upgraded from a DCT2000. I seem to recall seeing in the menus something about the enter key, or when it changes channels. Check out the Cable Box menu under the Setup option. Maybe there's something in there? On both my boxes, it's always changed after 3 digits, though I may be on a different firmware (Comcast in Atlanta).

Thanks to this forum, AGAIN! I woke up today to a motorola box that wouldn't work. . .after years. I hard rebooted both the RePlay and the Cable Box. Nothing. No enter was being sent after being sent for years.

This is the type of change that really needs to be done in a better way. If someone is going to change a code they need their software to note when a changed code is in use and send a message. This was a pain.

thanks steelerfan, though the Bengals will beat you again.

u wanna know the weird thing--one of the motorola dig cable boxes i have has a serial connection on the back, but every post i've read about 'em, says that u can't use the serial cable to control those boxes.

why is that? how come i can't take advantage of this connection (faster) and have to use the IR blaster (slow)?

I take back all of the bad things I've ever said about the Steelers! I got home from work today and found the same issue...ENTER wasn't being sent. I was using code 0276. I tried the others for my Motorola (0476, 4476) and had no luck.

Why didn't Replay let us know about this??

The 7930 code seems to work a little better for me - Thanks for that info! I was at the point of moving the Replay to the bedroom, or bringing in a second SD box, just to make sure my shows were recorded properly. One thing, though - I leave the cable box on all the time, never turning it off, but the code didn't seem to work until I cut power to and reset the 5100.

I leave my cable box on all the time as well. I'd already shut off the power to both the cable box and the RePlay, trying a hard boot. Actually I seem to have a little bit more delay with 7930, but it works.

I am using code 7400 on my Motorola HDTV (5100), 2200, 2100 boxes.

5100 = HDTV

2220 = Digital display on front

2100 = no display....

I could never get the IR codes in the 4000's to work on any of them.

So it sounds like the recent IR updates from Replay had some effect on

existing IR codes.

As a data point, I'm still using 0276 with DCT-5100 and it works fine.

I've received the zone 12 IR updates and rebooted.

0276 works fine on all the 3 digit channels, it's a problem with channels 1-99. I had the same problem, switched to 7930 and it works fine.

Maybe I'll get around to configuring my Replay to use the internal tuner for those low channels and the cable box on the higher channels.

This was only on my 4080, my Showstopper still works fine with 0276. I looked and there was no 7930 on the SS.

I checked the list of modified codes...and 0276 wasn't one of them...so I'm not sure why it didn't still work for some users...but was fine for others..

The codes were only modified for 4k and later boxes. The process to change codes for the 3k and earlier boxes is different.

It appears people are having different experiences and even Replay is

at a loss to explain why.

I'm using 0276 with Comcast DCT-5100. I configured to always send 3

digits and to not send enter. This is on 5040. It works for tuning 1-99

and for 3 digit channels.
