I am experiencing some puzzling sound delay when using my avr when I use the option listed below as video 2. There is no sound delay when I use the video 1 option however that sound is downmixed to 2.1. This delay also happens with every other device I have set up in this same manner. My receiver does not have automatic lip sync correction. What is the issue here? Is my hardware faulty? Is it the TOSLINK cable? Are my settings incorrect? Thank you for your time.

Here is my setup:
Code:
Code:
[CODE]TV     --(TOSLINK audio)-->     Receiver [video1]
BluRay --(TOSLINK audio)-->    Receiver       [video2]

BluRay --(HDMI video)-->       TV

(RECEIVER DOES NOT HAVE HDMI I/O)

Audio settings:
        TV: Cinema
        BluRay: TOSLINK=Primary pass-through; HDMI=Primary pass-through

Tv= LG 55LW5300
BLURAY= LG BD645
AVR= ONKYO TX-SR573
[/CODE]

I used to have that 573 receiver and experienced a delay in audio/video when using HDMI to the TV and a separate digital audio cable from source to receiver. That and the occasional clicking noise when changing sound modes finally frustrated me. Plus it got pretty hot.

I ended up selling the receiver and finally purchased a Denon with HDMI inputs. No more problems.
