I apologize if this has been asked and answered. I did a search and did not turn up anything relevant.

Now that Dish bought Direct tv, will Dish customers be able to get HDnet soon on Dish? Any thoughts?

It will be at least 9-12 months.

Not anytime soon. The two companies are required to remain entirely separate and operate as competitors until the deal receives final regulatory approval. I wouldn't look for HDNet on Dish for at least a year or two.

...It will be interseting. I have been told when Dish bought Primestar, Primestar users had to switch to Dish equipment?

I currently have Direct TV and will soon add Dish to my system. I will be prepared for both. Three Dishes and an off air HD antenna on my roof-a NASA substation in for sure!

I am only one dish behind you! But I wonder if, maybe, my antenna is bigger than yours??:)

Thanks for the replies. I would love to add another dish- the more the merrier. But it really is overkill. And for only one more channel? (Okay, so it REALLY is tempting, but I am trying to be good- so I can add a bigger amp to my SVS sub!)

A quick correction... DirecTV bought Primestar.

And of course they needed to change equipment. They were, like Dish and DirecTV incompatible systems.

I would suggest no one hold their breath for any of it. The likelyhood of getting anti-trust regulatory approval is said to be very very low.
