Its like whole nother world when watching a OLED, compared to a LED, I had the sony tvs X940E and the Js9500 samsung and yet none of comes close to a OLED picture, i mean mini leds TVs/Hisense ULED XD are moving in slowly and yet no one really know if their truly will be close to OLED picture...

Which oled TV model did you buy and when? Does it look a bigger upgrade to you in hdr or sdr? What content have you watched , a good starting point for new owners is the 4k hdr Blu ray of Pacific Rim.
I now have a Lg B8 OLED and yes it's very big upgrade when comes to dark movies and tru blacks, no lie and I've been on these forums for years and had so many tvs, and yet the OLED IMO is very outstanding.....

I remember when I got an oled laptop and was blown away. I decided then my next TV would be oled it was the closest I could get to my Sony xbr960.

I bought a 65C7 months later.

Maybe this should be moved to the OLED section of the forum.

I have a C8 in my house and will take my Q90 over my C8 for all of my critical viewing, which is mostly 4K HDR. It’s no contest when it comes HDR, as the OLED is simply not bright enough. I do prefer my OLED for lower quality sources though.

I've gone through 5 different LED TVs over the last month then said screw it and got a B8 at a really good price. It comes Tuesday and I can't wait. The TV that came closest to making me happy was the Sony x950g because of the amazing picture quality. If the LG B8 can come close to the Sony in quality without the blooming issues I'll be over the moon. I watch pretty much all my content in a dark room so I don't need a bright TV and this makes the blooming of LED TVs very noticeable. Just seems oled is the right choice for my situation.

I think the post is fine in this section of the forum. There are many who want to discuss comparisons between OLED vs LED and QLED.

I LOVE the OLED picture but I wanted a 75”, so for me, a 75” Q80 for $2300 with its anti glare screen vs $4000 for the 77” OLED was the better choice.

Exactly, there is no "right" choice. It's different for everyone. There are reasons to get either technology.

coming from a some high end 4k led, too a OLED 4k, its like seeing HDR and 4k for first time, its outstanding great...
It was like the same experience for me when I went from the C8 to the Q90. It was like I was rediscovering HDR all over again. I couldn’t believe the difference!

I still love my OLED for dimmer low quality sources though.

*I still think this OLED cheerleading session is in the wrong section of the forum. Mods can we please get this moved?

yeah that's the only thing u wont get from a OLED, is those strong high lights in HDR, but if you set up your OLED right, u wont miss it that much.. I had a 65JS9500 and it was very bright and wasn't bad tv by any means, but 4K OLED's are on a whole another level of picture quality, by far.. i feel a lot of people are missing out on this because of burn in, and they don't want to baby sit their tv, rightly so, i mean hell the way that picture looks, i don't care, its just that great...

I agree this should probably be moved to the oled section, however if this thread is bothering you...you can simply ignore it.

It's no contest that HDR is better on the q90 in Your opinion remember that. The OP was not knocking LCD, just happy with his purchase, just like you are with your LCD.

Why is it Oled cheerleading when people show appreciation for their purchase??? So when you tout how "special" your q90 is, that's not cheerleading...yeah:rolleyes:

LCD TVs have to raise the black floor for those "highlights" while oled is absolute black and thus while those "highlights" are dimmer by the numbers will actually be more impactful, while some like those super bright sets, most videophiles value contrast.
