45 minute video/url][/quote] Yeah,...gist of it or am I completely off base there?
Eh, that's the start of it. Total mess.Yeah, not going to watch that.
Can you give us a summary?
The comments imply this guy was paid to do a review by Tekton but he hated the speakers?
Is that the gist of it or am I completely off base there?
Can you elaborate to spare us from having to watch a 45 minute review that is a "total mess"?Eh, that's the start of it. Total mess.
Well, I enjoy watching a train wreck as much as the next guy, but that's a very long train. Rick--either you or I should save the world and go into the speaker review biz. That guy is godawful.Quite entertaining from a speaker designer's view.
I wonder who took those measurements?Well, I enjoy watching a train wreck as much as the next guy, but that's a very long train. Rick--either you or I should save the world and go into the speaker review biz. That guy is godawful.
Yeah he isThat guy is godawful.
You should see the Tekton FB group-- Tekton owner Eric posted a couple rebuttal letters. So yes like another said its a **** show situationQuite entertaining from a speaker designer's view.
I don't think either one of us would last very long...lolWell, I enjoy watching a train wreck as much as the next guy, but that's a very long train. Rick--either you or I should save the world and go into the speaker review biz. That guy is godawful.
I couldnt watch the whole thing you're a better man than me. Which you already knew lol but agree he should just take it down. That guy has ruined his career probably.Broke down as it entertained Rick and Dennis and watched the whole freaking video.
Why he hasn't taken it down is beyond me.
But his comment that it was odd that one pair of tweeters were being asked to play down to 750hz and another pair somewhat higher, (but still midrange territory), and the last one handled the high treble.
Seems awfully low for a tweeter.
Nevertheless his attempts to "temper" his review of the speakers, which he clearly did not like, was a bit pathetic to watch.
Essentially for those wise enough not to watch it something like "8 out of 10 non audio enthusiasts will love these but "audiophiles" will likely notice the cabinet resonance and hard midrange with electric guitar that I noticed....but Eric did a great job.............................."
Enjoy you Tektons!I couldnt watch the whole thing you're a better man than me. Which you already knew lol but agree he should just take it down. That guy has ruined his career probably.
Re: Cabinet Resonance, there are a lot of speakers that lack interior bracing that do not express resonance. I've been cranking my Tekton Enzo XLs trying to hear something in there with my ear to the side. Can't do for too long obviously, but haven't heard anything yet. Maybe the Enzo's built different???
Trust me if I heard resonance, I'd be sending these back ASAP. I'm under the 60 days return policy for about another 5 weeks.
I wonder how he would compare the Tekton speakers to the Salk Veracity ST that you designed the crossover for? He gave the Veracity a favorable review.Well, I enjoy watching a train wreck as much as the next guy, but that's a very long train. Rick--either you or I should save the world and go into the speaker review biz. That guy is godawful.
I knew I had seen that face and and mannerisms before. I have no idea what the relations were between Jim and the dude, but I would certainly like to think Jim wouldn't have to pay to get a favorable review for that speaker. I could have given Jim a glowing report for free.I wonder how he would compare the Tekton speakers to the Salk Veracity ST that you designed the crossover for? TrueWatching that only makes me think I must find better things to do with whatever time I have remaining.
