Yeah, not going to watch that.

Can you give us a summary?

The comments imply this guy was paid to do a review by Tekton but he hated the speakers?

Is that the gist of it or am I completely off base there?
Eh, that's the start of it. Total mess.

Can you elaborate to spare us from having to watch a 45 minute review that is a "total mess"?

EDIT: reading further in the comments it appears there were some nasty e'mails exchanged with the company owner which the paid reviewer stupidly read to his audience, (very unethical), and the owner made some now removed comments disparaging the reviewer...and removed the prototype tested from scheduled production.

Well, I enjoy watching a train wreck as much as the next guy, but that's a very long train. Rick--either you or I should save the world and go into the speaker review biz. That guy is godawful.
I wonder who took those measurements?

Quite entertaining from a speaker designer's view.
You should see the Tekton FB group-- Tekton owner Eric posted a couple rebuttal letters. So yes like another said its a **** show situation

I don't think either one of us would last very long...lol

Broke down as it entertained Rick and Dennis and watched the whole freaking video.

Why he hasn't taken it down is beyond me.

But his comment that it was odd that one pair of tweeters were being asked to play down to 750hz and another pair somewhat higher, (but still midrange territory), and the last one handled the high treble.

Seems awfully low for a tweeter.

Nevertheless his attempts to "temper" his review of the speakers, which he clearly did not like, was a bit pathetic to watch.

Essentially for those wise enough not to watch it something like "8 out of 10 non audio enthusiasts will love these but "audiophiles" will likely notice the cabinet resonance and hard midrange with electric guitar that I noticed....but Eric did a great job.............................."

I couldnt watch the whole thing you're a better man than me. Which you already knew lol but agree he should just take it down. That guy has ruined his career probably.

Re: Cabinet Resonance, there are a lot of speakers that lack interior bracing that do not express resonance. I've been cranking my Tekton Enzo XLs trying to hear something in there with my ear to the side. Can't do for too long obviously, but haven't heard anything yet. Maybe the Enzo's built different???
Trust me if I heard resonance, I'd be sending these back ASAP. I'm under the 60 days return policy for about another 5 weeks.

Enjoy you Tektons!

As you well know from testing a myriad of speakers over the last few years, not everyone likes the same thing and this guy simply didn't like the Tektons.

He should have returned them without posting a video as it was HIS business model to demand payment.

Imagic has the right idea as a reviewer, "pre audition" speakers so if a manufacturer offers you a pair to test you can say "yes" if you liked your first impressions and "no" if you did not.

Nobody wants to rip apart a speaker and I was certainly very shocked I didn't like, at all, the KLH Albanys.

Probably as much as you didn't like the Elac B6, though you did like the Elac B6.2.

I wonder how he would compare the Tekton speakers to the Salk Veracity ST that you designed the crossover for? He gave the Veracity a favorable review.

I knew I had seen that face and and mannerisms before. I have no idea what the relations were between Jim and the dude, but I would certainly like to think Jim wouldn't have to pay to get a favorable review for that speaker. I could have given Jim a glowing report for free.
