Hiya,

I was watching The Thing (region 1 DVD) last night on my DLP (4:3) Projector. The reason I mention this is because I watched it after a PAL disk.

Ill cut to the chase http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif the thing I noticed is that NTSC movies are projected about an inch on either side of the screen larger than their PAL counterparts.

Does anyone know why this is the case?

Thanks

AEthernaut,

what you saw should have nothing to do with the differences of NTSC and PAL. Then I don't know what equipment you are using. Is the difference there with all NTSC (res. 480x720) and PAL (576x720) DVDs? PAL and NTSC differ in the color system and the VERTICAL resolution.

Cheers

Christoph
