I am using the VGA out to my extron/projector and the S-video out to a 7" lcd screen.

When I am in dual mode I can have different resolutions on each monitor. In clone mod I can only use one resolution.

What I would like to do is be able to use the LCD screen on the S-video out to run apps and have the normal windows screen when I have my projector off. And then when I use my projector Have the apps and windows screen on the projector. I guess that what I would be doing is switching primary and secondary monitors between the projector and LCD screen but keeping the different resolutions like when your in dual view.

I have tried to use nvidia's hot-key setup up, but having trouble getting it to work right. It always changes the resolutions and ends up shutting off the s-video output.

Has anyone done something like this? and maybe a clue on how they got it to work. When I get it working I would like to use girder to give the hot-key command. Then program it to my pronto

Thanks

Yes, I do something like this. I have one hotkey labelled "Desktop View" (Monitor 1 is my 19" Samsung monitor and Monitor 2 is my 15" Samsung monitor) then one labelled "TV View" (Monitor 1 is my 19" Samsung monitor and Monitor 2 is the S-video out to my 27" NTSC TV)

I use the hotkeys and then Girder will toggle between the two depending on whether I put it into HTPC mode or Desktop mode (girder also switches the live5.1 audio out between analog around the desktop and digital to the receiver)

The main thing with setting up the profiles (I believe Nvidia calls them) is that the hotkeys are actually stored in the current profile. So when you change the profile all of a sudden your hotkeys are gone. This can be quite confusing, so create/save your hotkeys in each profile you make.

Make all the settings that you want for one of the profiles then save the profile. Then change all the settings to the second profile you want then save it as your second profile. Then set up your hotkeys in both profiles and resave each profile. I believe this is how I did it, but I am work so I am not sure.

Thank you very much,

I made profiles for each one and they work fine. When I setup hotkeys with nvidia it only works once. When it switches I put in a hotkey for the other profile, it worked but then the hotkey is gone again. Sort of like it never saves the hotkey.

Could this be a bug? It works great the first time, then its gone.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time

Yeah, that confussed me the first time as well, it looks as though the driver keeps losing the hotkeys. Glad to hear you got it working, as it is a really nice feature for automation.
